HardStuck Beta Aug 14 - NEW Detection Engineering Course
Featuring an R&D (Research & Development) cert! New to this industry.

HardStuck: Detection Engineering. Beta August 14.
AI is making writing detection rules cheap. Cheaper rules = more untested rules, noisy rules, rules nobody maintains. The value now more than ever is about the engineering process around it: requirements, design, validation, deployment, maintenance.
That's what HardStuck: Detection Engineering teaches. And we can finally introduce the author.
It's Rain Jordan, you may remember his other handle as Tallis. He wrote our original Detection content, and he's coming back to teach the discipline he runs in the field every day but with all the lessons learned and where things are trending. Fair warning from his own course intro: this one doesn't hold hands. It’s recommended to do after DE&TH but can certainly complement it alongside it as you go.
On August 14 we open the beta, and we want you to stress test it:
Three modules: The Detection Environment, Detection Design, and Building Detection Logic
Adventurers and Guardians get access immediately on the 14th
A draw form goes out next week for access for everyone else with a special one for DE&TH owners.
You'll also be first on a brand new lab format built on our grading engine. It gives you feedback and guidance inside the answers as you work. No other platform does labs like this.
Feedback forms are built into the beta. Your feedback will help decide how the full course ships.
HADES Certifications & 1 on 1 Feedback?
You asked for it, you got it. Actually, you’re getting 3 certs in a credential path.
This is a BRAND new type of industry certification around R&D (Research & Development). You must create new original detection research in order to achieve it.
At full release, HardStuck carries its own certification: HADES (HardCounter Applied Detection Engineering Systems).
Open ended and graded by hand by the author, with two tracks:
HADES-R for original detection research.
HADES-D for running a real threat through the entire detection lifecycle.
Complete both and you hold HADES-R&D. Every attempt comes back with written feedback and leaves you with a work sample you can show employers.
Launch Discount
And when the full course releases, subscribers can get up to a 20% discount on it.
The course and certs will be purchase only to own.
UX Updates - Finding your path just got easier
You told us Quests, Campaigns, and Trials made the platform harder to navigate. We agreed. They're now Courses, Learning Paths, and Assessments and laid out much cleaner.
Six Learning Paths now map straight to careers, from 0 to Tier 1 SOC Analyst through Detection Engineering.
And the credential ladder behind them is live: CDT, CDA, and CDR prove what you know. The instructor-certified CDCA and CDCP prove what you did, with real investigations and full incident reports reviewed by a human. When your badge says Certified, an instructor verified the work.

Founder's Sale extended through August 16
Launch year deserves a thank you. Here it is.
Annual plans already take 15% off. Through August 16, we're taking another 30% off after that, and the rate locks in for as long as you stay subscribed.
Adventurer: $206.50/year (down from $295), about $17/month instead of $29
Guardian: $563.50/year (down from $805), about $47/month instead of $79
Stacked together that's over 40% off the monthly rate, basically at cost, and the lowest it will ever be. Prices go up in the new year.
This is basically a “thank you” rate to all our early supporters.
Reminder - subscribe now and you're in the HardStuck beta on the 14th too.
See you at DEF CON?
Anthony here - I’m at DEF CON this week helping out at the Just Hacking Training booth. If you're there, come say hello. And if you catch me around the conference, stop me. Would love to finally meet some of you in person after all these years!
