Virtual HelpDesk

We’re pleased to announce that the SOC100-1 content kicked off the release of our Virtual HelpDesk training this past weekend whereby you get to work in a case management platform resolving challenging tickets of your own that are IT related.

You can find the SOC100-1 course on our training catalog that takes you through it and some coverage of it in our Class 16 and 17 streams!

SOC100 Certs

We’ve decided to provide proper digital badges to the SOC100 course series for each individual course assessment completed. That includes SOC100-1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

These course badges will be assessments with multiple choice and input fields. They’ll test theory and practical understanding with technical questions but no virtual machines.

So what about the SOC100-4 cert? Stay tuned. It may be referred to a different name though the next time you see it.

Holiday Break

The Level Effect office will be closed from Dec 18th to 26th! We’ll still be around in case there are any account or platform emergencies but expect us to be quieter that time.

Additionally we’ll be quieter from the 27th to Jan 1st before getting back to it again Jan 2nd onward!

There WON’T be a newsletter on Dec 24th.

SOC100-1 Wraps Up & Badge!

Last Sunday saw a wrap up of SOC100-1 for the live streams. What an awesome 17 live classes so far on it!

We’re just waiting on a little artwork and final touches on the course assessment targeting this Friday to release it where you can earn the first digital badge for this series!

SOC100-2 Begins!

SOC100-2 officially kicks off this weekend before the holiday break. We’ll open up the course and kick things off with one of the most important and under appreciated areas in security - Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)!

SOC100 Class 16 & 17

Things got a more intense now:

• Dug into Sysmon for a deeper look at events and logs!

• Cracked open the Virtual HelpDesk and got into solving tickets

• Kerberos authentication failure analysis

• Built our first Home Lab!

3. Community

First CDA On-Demand graduate!

Big shoutout to Arkphyre being the FIRST to become a CDA graduate for the recently released on-demand version! Well done! 👏

CDCP

Huge shoutout to an alumni that gave a statement to the CDCP making a real improvement to their career trajectory from Production Audio Mixer to Security. Well done once again Matt!

Nice work Dumaurier getting to work on your home lab setup! Looks intense as a virtual SOC in the making!
